Printing Practice
Some Parents have asked me if I could help them and their child with printing practice. Here is a link to a web site that has a font that you can install on your computer that will let you print out the fonts that your kids can practice with. Click here.
Once you have saved this file to your computer (like on your desktop so you can find it later) you will need to extract or unzip the files first so that the control panel will recognize them. Then you will need to go into your control panel, there you select font, under file you select add new. Then you navigate to where you saved the font (like on your desktop) and the control panel should recognize and install the font. Then you can use this font in Microsoft Word to create custom word documents that your child can use to practice their printing.
Here is a link to a website that creates customizable and printable Cursive practice sheets that you can print out at home.
If you don’t want to make your own (I recommend that you do) then here are some handwriting word documents that are done for you.

Book Leveling Tool
In order to get the right type of books that are on the kids level I have provided a link to scholastic that will help you to find the level of your book. If you click here, then type in the name of your book in the Quick Search box to the lower left of the screen it will likely have your book and its reading level.
Dolch Word List Site
The Dolch word list is a list of about 300 words that students often find difficult, and should learn . The link listed below has printable flash cards of this list for parents to print and use with their child. I hope that this will help.
Timed Math Practice
There is a great website for creating timed math practice for your child called softschools.com. They have a page that will create addition, subtraction, multiplication, or division worksheets. Your child should be given 5 minutes to do as many problems as they can. I like to create an 8 by 20 worksheet giving them 160 problems to do in 5 minutes. They should be able to work up to doing 100 problems in 5 minutes with no errors. This is true for each (+,-,x,division). Below are some links to this website.
